• Bullet for My Valentine (also known as Bullet, BFMV and B4MV) is a Welsh metalcore band from Bridgend, formed in 1998. The band consists of Matt Tuck (vocals, guitar), Michael Paget (guitar, backing vocals), Jason James (bass, vocals) and Michael Thomas (drums). They were formed under the name Jeff Killed John, and began his musical career, playing songs by Metallica and Nirvana. Jeff Killed John recorded six songs that were not released, two of which tracks were reworked later in his career as Bullet for My Valentine. Financial difficulties have made the name change, which was followed by a change in musical direction. In 2002, they obtained a five-album contract with Sony BMG. The band stated that their music is influenced by classic heavy metal acts like Metallica, Iron Maiden. The band is part of the music scene in Cardiff. The debut album from Bullet for My Valentine, The Poison, was released on October 3, 2005 in the UK and February 14, 2006 in the United States to coincide with Valentine’s Day. The album entered the Billboard 200 in the U.S. in number of 128. It was certified Gold by the Recording Industry Association of America. The band made appearances at the Download Festival, Kerrang! XXV, and toured the U.S. with Rob Zombie. The second studio album from Bullet for My Valentine, Scream Aim Fire, was released on January 29, 2008 and debuted at number four on the Billboard 200. The third album, Fever, was released on April 26, 2010 and debuted at number three on the Billboard 200. The band has sold over a million albums in the United States and about 2.5 million albums worldwide and are the most successful act in Kerrang! earning three times the award for “Best British Band.”

• Yeah, but how did the band?? In 1993, singer Tankian, then a software salesman in Los Angeles, knows Malakian, a studio during a rehearsal. Both musicians, both of Armenian origin, both with similar political ideas. Anyway, nothing like getting a new band!Thus emerged the “Soil”, and shall have Odadjian as the “manager” and the band’s bassist and drummer with Andranik “Andy” Khatchadurian, replaced by Dolmayan in 1995, the year as bassist Shavo settled permanently, leaving the position the manager. Thus, the group was made up as we know it today. A great mystery is the name: Why System of a Down, Tankian? “It comes from a poem our guitarist, Daron, called Victims Of A Down,” explains Serj. “He brought us the poem, and System was chosen as a word better and stronger. The band’s name means a hole full of people is nothing more nor less than our society.” Serj now asks people to “get the meaning of our name. Means different things to different people. That is its beauty. It’s like painting a picture on the wall and ask, ‘What do you think?’ It is very different personal and political levels. It’s free interpretation.
